What’s the difference between Shared Hosting and VPS Hosting?
You may have noticed a difference in hosting availability listed above. Let us explain those differences in simple terms.
Shared Hosting basically means your all your webiste files, including any databases, share a server with other websites all on the same server IP address. Some shared hosting servers may host as little as 10,000 websites or more than 500,000 websites. These numbers can differ greatly between different web hosting service providers.
VPS Hosting, or Virtual Private Server, hosting is the next step up. A VPS hosting environment mimics a Dedicated Server within a shared hosting environment. It is technically both shared hosting and dedicated hosting but with more dedicated resources to assist in improving visitor experience. And, unlike other e-Commerce platforms such as Shopify and Squarespace, you have full control over your hosting and you are not at the whim of their customer service or support team.
If you’re interested in Dedicated Hosting, we can help with that too!
